# Reviews and ratings

> How the review system works and how to moderate it as a catalog admin.

The review system lets visitors leave ratings and written feedback on listings. Reviews build social proof and help serious professionals stand out from the crowd.

  Reviews are available on the **Professional plan and above**. On Starter, the reviews section is hidden from the public catalog.

## How reviews work

1. A visitor opens a listing profile and scrolls to the reviews section
2. They submit a star rating (1–5) and an optional written comment — no account required
3. The review is **auto-approved** and appears immediately on the profile
4. The listing owner receives an email notification
5. The listing owner can reply to the review from their panel

## Your role as admin

You can see all reviews in **Dashboard → Reviews**. From here you can:

* **Filter by status** — all reviews, or reviews on a specific listing
* **Delete a review** — permanently remove it with confirmation

  Deleted reviews cannot be recovered. Use deletion for spam, offensive content, or clearly fake reviews.

## Enabling or disabling reviews

You control whether reviews are visible in your catalog from **Dashboard → Settings → Listings → Enable reviews**.

When reviews are disabled:

* The reviews section disappears from all public listing profiles
* Existing reviews are preserved in the database (they'll reappear if you re-enable)
* Listing owners can no longer receive new reviews or reply

## Reviews and star ratings in search results

When a listing has enough reviews, a star rating badge appears on its card in the listing view. This helps listings with strong feedback stand out visually in search results — giving owners a real incentive to collect reviews.

  Encourage listing owners to ask their clients to leave a review right after a positive interaction. Even 3–5 reviews make a noticeable difference to visitor trust.

## What listing owners can do

Listing owners manage their reviews from their panel under **Reviews**:

* See all their reviews with ratings and comments
* Write a reply to any review (or edit/delete their reply)

Owners cannot delete reviews themselves — only you as admin can remove a review.
