Custom fields extend listing profiles with data specific to your catalog’s niche. Instead of every directory looking the same, you define exactly what information matters for your use case.
Examples by catalog type
| Catalog | Custom fields |
|---|
| Physiotherapy | Practicing since (date), Accepts insurance (boolean), NFZ (boolean) |
| Lawyers | Bar number (text), Languages spoken (text), Hourly rate (number) |
| Bike shops | Service radius km (number), Booking URL (url), Brands serviced (text) |
| Podcasts | Episode count (number), Average length (text), RSS feed (url) |
Field types
| Type | Use it for |
|---|
| Text | Short labels, descriptions, certifications |
| Number | Years of experience, rates, distances |
| Date | ”Practicing since”, “Founded in” |
| Boolean | Yes/no questions (accepts insurance, home visits) |
| Select (dropdown) | One choice from a defined list (location type, service tier) |
| URL | Booking pages, external profiles, calendars |
Creating a custom field
Go to Dashboard → Custom fields and click Add field.
Fill in:
- Label — the field name shown on profiles (e.g. “Hourly rate”)
- Type — choose from the types above
- Entity type — which entity type this field applies to
- Required — if checked, listing owners must fill this in before their profile can go active
- Searchable — if checked, this field appears as a filter on the listing page
For Select fields, you’ll also define the list of options.
Labels cannot be easily changed after field data exists. Choose your labels carefully before inviting owners to fill in their profiles.
Editing a custom field
You can edit a field’s label, required status, and searchable status at any time. For Select fields, you can also add or remove options — but removing an option that’s already been chosen by some listings will leave those values blank.
Deleting a custom field
Deleting a field removes the field definition and all values stored for it. This cannot be undone.
If listing owners have already filled in data for a field, deleting it will erase that data permanently.
Plan limits
| Plan | Custom fields |
|---|
| Starter | 5 |
| Professional | 20 |
| Business | Unlimited |
Start with 3–5 fields that are genuinely useful to visitors searching your catalog. Searchable fields become filters — too many filters can be overwhelming. Add more fields over time as you understand what your users actually use.
