Listing plans are the subscription tiers you offer to listing owners. Each plan has a price, billing interval, and a list of features. Listing owners choose a plan during registration or upgrade later from their panel.

Creating a plan

Go to Dashboard → Listing plans and click Add plan.

Pricing strategy — where to start

Pricing a new directory is hard because you have no data yet. Some starting points: For professional services (lawyers, doctors, therapists): A plan in the 1515–40/month range is common. These professionals spend hundreds on Google Ads and leads — a directory is cheap by comparison. For small businesses (shops, tradespersons): Start lower — 55–15/month. The perceived value of a directory listing is lower for businesses that aren’t accustomed to paying for online presence. For premium niches (financial advisors, architects, specialists): You can charge more — 3030–80/month — especially if your catalog has strong domain authority or a targeted audience.
Start with one or two plans. A single “Pro” plan at a reasonable price converts better than a confusing 4-tier grid. You can add tiers later once you understand what owners actually want.

Monthly vs. annual pricing

Offering an annual option with a small discount (e.g. 2 months free = ~17% off) is standard practice. It reduces churn and gives you more predictable revenue. Example:
  • Monthly: $19/month
  • Annual: 190/year(190/year (15.83/month — you frame it as “2 months free”)

Features list — what to promise

The features list on each plan is displayed to owners during checkout and in their panel. Be specific: Good features list:
  • Active profile in the catalog
  • Visible in search results
  • Appear in specialization filters
  • Contact form visible to visitors
  • Star rating & reviews
  • Priority placement in search results (Premium only)
Avoid vague promises like “more visibility” — they erode trust.

Free plan

You don’t have to charge for everything. A free tier (with limited visibility or features) lowers the barrier to registration and builds your catalog’s initial listing count. A common model:
  • Free — profile exists but is ranked lower, no contact form
  • Pro ($X/mo) — full visibility, contact form, reviews, search priority
Even if you start with all listings free, set up the plan structure now. It’s much harder to introduce payments to people who’ve been using the catalog for free for months — they’ll feel penalized.
