Featured listings are highlighted profiles that appear in a dedicated section on your catalog homepage and are visually distinguished in search results. They’re one of the simplest and most effective tools you have for both monetization and catalog quality. When you mark a listing as Featured, it:
  • Appears in the “Featured” section on your catalog homepage
  • Is visually distinguished from regular listings in search results (badge, different card style)
  • Gets higher perceived visibility, making it attractive to listing owners willing to pay for it
Featured status is manually controlled — you toggle it on or off per listing. Go to Dashboard → Listings. To feature a listing, open it and toggle the Featured switch, then save. You can also see which listings are currently featured using the Featured filter in the listings table.
Keep a tab on how many listings are currently featured. More than 8–10 on the homepage dilutes the “featured” distinction and makes the section look cluttered.
Featured placement is a high-perceived-value, zero-infrastructure product — you’re not building anything new, just surfacing what already exists more prominently.

Option 1 — Include in a higher-tier plan

Gate featured placement behind your top listing plan. For example:
PlanPriceFeatured
Basic$9/mo
Pro$29/mo
This gives listing owners a concrete, visible reason to upgrade. It’s easy to explain: “Pro listings appear in the Featured section on the homepage.”

Option 2 — Sell it as a monthly add-on

Offer featured status as a separate recurring charge on top of any base plan. Example: $15/month for featured placement, regardless of which base plan the owner is on. This works well when your base plans are already priced for value and you want an additional upsell without restructuring your plan tiers.

Option 3 — Offer it as a promotional tool

Use featured placement as a short-term promotional offer — for example, featuring new listings for their first 30 days for free to encourage sign-ups, or featuring listings that get the most reviews as a quality signal.
Currently, featured status is toggled manually by you as the admin. There’s no automated expiry — if you sell monthly featured placement, you’ll need to manually toggle it off when a payment period ends (or track it via your listing plans).
Not every listing benefits equally from featured placement. To maximize the impact of the Featured section on your homepage, prioritize listings that:
  • Have a complete profile — photo, bio, contact info, specializations
  • Have positive reviews (if reviews are enabled)
  • Represent diverse specializations — don’t feature 5 listings with the same specialty
  • Are actively managed by their owner — they respond to contacts, keep details up to date
A homepage with 6 well-chosen featured listings builds more trust than one with 15 half-filled profiles.
